Advocacy
INTA PAC
A nonpartisan political action committee that serves as your voice in the U.S. Congress.
About
In the United States, Washington, D.C., is where the action is. Politics, law, and business co-mingle every day on Capitol Hill, resulting in intellectual property legislation that profoundly impacts your industry and your practice.
IP policy can bring together members of all parties. We are part of the political conversation for the benefit of our members, brand owners, and consumers alike.
The INTA PAC is our nonpartisan political action committee that serves to amplify brand owners’ voices and perspectives in the political process by contributing to both candidates for and incumbents in the U.S. Congress, based on their positions on significant IP issues. Strong advocacy depends on creating relationships with Members of Congress who share our values and principles, including the importance of strong brand protection.
If you care about significant trademark and other IP legislation, then you should participate in the INTA PAC. This is your opportunity to be active, support strong trademark rights, and be a D.C. insider.
The INTA PAC serves as your voice in the U.S. Congress.
Key Reasons to Support
Key reasons to support the INTA PAC:
- To build robust, long-term relationships with lawmakers
- To have the strongest, most credible voice in Washington, D.C., representing the brand owner community
- To empower our advocacy efforts with the additional resources needed to succeed in the U.S. political system
- Because we cannot afford to be silent; we must be part of the legislative solution
Donations
The INTA PAC welcomes donations in any amount from any eligible member.
To contribute, you must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder who is:
- An individual of an Associate Member (law firms);
- Affiliated with a Corporate Member that has been provided a prior approval form* for INTA to solicit the Corporate Member’s personnel who are U.S. citizens or Green Card holders; or
- An officer or executive of INTA that is otherwise not in categories 1 or 2 above.
All PAC contributions are used for U.S. federal election campaigns.
This information is not intended to be a solicitation of contributions from foreign nationals.
“I support the INTA PAC because it enables our Association to support policymakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties who have demonstrated they understand the importance of strong trademark rights. These Members of Congress have championed increased brand protection, resisted attempts to weaken trademark rights, and helped us educate their colleagues about the need to enforce intellectual property rights and curb the sale/use of counterfeit goods.”Michael Moore, INTA PAC Board Chair
